New Program Empowers Students to Safeguard Digital Futures
Ames, Iowa – As the demand for cybersecurity professionals continues to surge, Iowa State’s new online certificate program offers a practical and relevant education designed to meet industry needs.
The program’s flexible online format is ideal for busy professionals, allowing them to learn at their own pace while balancing work and personal commitments. Iowa State is dedicated to supporting online students throughout their journey, offering access to a powerful network of Cyclones and expert faculty.
As part of the electrical and computer engineering department, the program is designed to equip students with the essential skills to protect information and systems in today’s digital landscape. This flexible, innovative program is tailored for working professionals and students looking to enhance their knowledge in the rapidly growing field of cybersecurity.
Students will learn to identify security threats, implement protection strategies, and understand cybersecurity’s legal and ethical considerations. The program consists of 21 total credits and can be completed in as little as one to two years. The fully online format allows students to enroll at any time.
The undergraduate certificate is available to those with an associate’s degree (or equivalent) in a related field and a 2.0 transfer GPA. Once enrolled, students will have the opportunity to learn from some of the state’s leading cybersecurity experts.
