Energy Systems Engineering – Master’s

Energy Systems Engineering

You can be at the forefront of creating solutions for one of society’s biggest challenges: providing sustainable energy for a growing world population. Energy systems are pervasive, affecting nearly every aspect of society. The increasing complexity of these systems, along with increasing environmental constraints, requires practicing professionals in the field that have knowledge, skills and abilities specific to energy system design, evaluation, construction and management

Summary

The Department of Mechanical Engineering offers an interdisciplinary master’s in energy systems engineering (ESE). A master’s in ESE will help you contribute to the development of new sources of energy. The MS in ESE has five focus areas:

  • biorenewables (B)
  • wind (W)
  • power generation and distribution (P)
  • building energy and energy efficiency (E)
  • thermal science (T)

With our MS, you will understand the increasing complexity of these systems; you will gain the skills and abilities needed to design, evaluate, build, and manage energy systems.
