You’ve mapped your path. You’re stepping up to address the critical challenges in PK-12 education. We’ll equip you with advanced skills in assessment, research, student development, equity, belonging, and administrative leadership.

This program is designed to prepare you as a transformational, equity-focused district-level leader. You’ll be well-positioned to lead school districts, AEAs, departments of education, and other educational agencies, driving meaningful change at every level.

This three-year Ed.D. program, recognized by the Carnegie Project on the Education Doctorate (CPED), culminates in a dissertation in practice that addresses real-world issues. When the time comes, you may be eligible to continue your path by applying for Iowa Superintendent/AEA Chief licensure.

In addition to specialized coursework, you’ll complete a core curriculum that deepens your understanding of the PK-12 schooling continuum. The program’s cohort model fosters a collaborative learning environment, helping you build strong professional networks and engage in dialogue with emerging leaders across the educational system. Admissions Requirements

Graduate College Requirements:

  • 4 year Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent)
  • Academic Records/Transcripts
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA (Program may alter requirement.)
  • Proof of English Proficiency

Credits

Total: 54 Credits

Candidates may be eligible to apply for Iowa Superintendent/AEA Chief licensure after two years, completion of 30 credit hours of required coursework and required 400 hours of clinical fieldwork.
